Edict of Nantes

The Edict of Nantes consists of four basic texts, containing 92 articles. The document outlined the new relationship between a religious minority in France, the French Protestants, also called Huguenots, and the Catholic majority. The Archives Nationales in Paris holds an original but shortened version of the Edict, written in ink on parchment paper and with the original seal intact.
