Condom with Latin Instruction

This condom includes a Latin manual. It dates from 1813, was found in the Swedish city of Lund, and is preserved at Lund University Historical Museum. It was made of sheep intestine with silk ribbons.

Before the use of rubber in the nineteenth century, condoms such as this one were made of animal intestines, while silk ribbons kept it in place. The Latin manual, which also functions as a pouch for the condoms, explains its correct usage.
