French Snuffbox
This snuffbox measures about 8.3 by 6 cm and was produced in France around 1781. It is made from gold and enamel by Joseph Etienne Blerzy and is now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. On its lid, it has an image of the goddess Venus and Cupid, both symbols of love. The box looks exquisite, with its elliptic shape, red and golden decorations, and inlaid with enamel.
