Storyline
Work and Life in the Wolmarans
A few decades ago, you used to be able to glance into each living room on this street. Now, most curtains are drawn. Mr. and Mrs. Bastiaan, however, still keep theirs open at all times. Their house tells the story of gentrification, emancipation, and individualization of society in the context of the working-class neighborhood “Transvaal” in Leiden.
