Exceptional Neighbors

On the Morsweg in Leiden, at De Rijn, a flat and a villa stand side by side. Or better yet, they are stuck together. In the flat, more than a hundred students live together, whereas the building next door houses a family. How did these two vastly different groups of neighborhood residents come to live right next to each other?
