Limits Reached?

The problems were not solved after the annexation of 1896. In 1920, a second annexation further increased Leiden’s territory to the red line on this map, as can be seen here. In the decades after the first border change, many inhabitants of Oegstgeest were dissatisfied with Leiden’s urge to expand. Let’s take a look at this new border of 1920 in the next step.
