Totem in Leiden
In the garden of the Museum of Ethnology stands a special, eight-meter-high totem pole. This totem pole in the Leiden museum garden was specifically commissioned by the Museum of Ethnology and intended to create a connection between the Indigenous North American culture of the Kwakiutl and the Netherlands. What does this totem pole tell us? And how 'original' is it?
