The next book is titled General Rigby, Zanzibar, and the slave trade, written by General Rigby’s daughter C.E.B. Russell, published in 1935.

Rudolph Said-Ruete added in an envelope on the title page a photograph of, once again, the book’s subject: Major General Christopher Palmer Rigby (1820-1885). He was the British consul on Zanzibar from 1858 to 1861 and was known for his attempts to put a stop to slavery.

Rudolph also included a newspaper clipping and a notification of a lecture to be given by Prof. Albert Schweitzer on May 19th 1936 in Zürich.
