When discussing how to make stations safer places for women, we need to address the bigger issue of violence against women and the systems that keep this intact. Orange the World is a large campaign against violence against women. As the website states, 1 out of 3 women worldwide deal with physical, psychological, and/or sexual violence, as they do in stations.Statistics and Facts Of course, problems at stations can be solved by implementing specific strategies, such as better lighting and more surveillance, as well as having regular discussions and conversations on the topic. Making to-do lists for safety is clearly not enough, and men all over the world have to become active participants in making their own environment a safe one. Perhaps in this way, we can create economical, efficient, and, above all, safe train stations!
