A Suspicious Coincidence

At the same time in another place, another woman prepares to go outside in the dark. It is somewhere after midnight, and she has just finished a long shift at the local bar. She smiles wearily as she waves goodbye to her male colleague before walking out the door towards the now deserted parking lot. Her car is the only one left in the parking lot, along with a white van that has just parked next to her car on the driver’s side. She frowns when the driver does not exit the van. Then gets suspicious. She backs off, back into the direction she came from. Back to the bar, stumbling into a run, praying her male colleague has not left yet. He hasn’t. Embarrassed to explain the situation, she asks him to escort her to her car, just to be sure. When they get to the parking lot, the van is gone.
