Step 3 of 6
Lunch proposal
When Monna Giovanna becomes a widow, she and her son move to their country house for the summer, which is located nearby Federigo’s house. There the boy becomes attached to Federigo’s falcon, but does not dare to ask him for it. One day, Monna Giovanna’s son becomes mortally ill, and the only thing she hopes is for her son to be well again.
Therefore, she does anything to make him comfortable. But she struggles to see her son suffer and so decides to knock on Federigo’s door to ask for the falcon. Giovanna is aware that she first needs to make up for the rejections in the past which have hurt him, and thus proposes to have lunch at Federigo’s residence.
