Golden Cup in Decameron
This manuscript was once in possession of Louis XIV (1661-1715). Boccaccio wrote his Decameron, a collection of a hundred stories, between 1349 and 1360. This folio contains the novella of Tancredi and Ghismunda. A golden cup and a human heart play an important role in the first novella of the fourth day in the Decameron.
