Lifelong friendship

Saladin is impressed with the Jew’s wise answer and decides to be honest with him. Melchisedech ends up providing the sultan with the money he needs and Saladin in his turn pays him back afterwards. In the end they have established a lifelong friendship and the Jew was even given an honorable position close to Saladin.
