Guitá

"This sky that you are asking about," a Hamar friend told me, "is guitá". I understood that this guitá sky was named after a type of coat of a cow. My Italian sky is azzurro, and that of my Dutch friends is blauw. So what would this cow look like? I had to find one, and would not rest until I would have found a cow with a guitá coat.

Me and my Hamar friends went from herd to herd, asked here, asked there. Every day during that stay I was hoping to see guitá. Maybe then I would understand why 'my' blue sky is guitá. Without having seen this guitá cow, I am quite sure that her coat would not be something that I would call azzurro or blu….

(there is another story on Things That Talk that is talking about the experience of blue and gray. Link is below)
