Bordí bracelet
This story is again about specific types of coats in cows that live amongst the Hamar herds in the Omo Valley, Ethiopia. (The other stories, I will link at the end).
While this cow is munching away, let me first show you my Hamar bracelets. Look at the beaded bracelets. They show some sort of pattern. What is the difference between the one on the far right, and the one on the far left?
The one on the left has a bordí pattern. Types of appearance referred to as bordí display easily discernible patterns characterized by large chunks of colors or shapes, or large spots for example. The term bórdi also carries the sense of abundance. A person, too, can be bordí when they give you everything, and never say no.
And all of this is named after the coat in a cow like the one in the story. Her coat is bordí. Time to look at her coat.
