Besides religious objects, such as the aforementioned icon and crucifix, there are several texts present in the quiet room. These texts serve as a source of support and comfort, such as a prayer of the minister of the community which is printed on a banner.

This specific text is a kyrie-prayer (“Lord, have mercy”). In this prayer, the minister asked for compassion and mercy for those who “enter the other world of illness, or the unknown territory of mourning.” The choice to portray this prayer, indicates that life is not perceived as solely filled with happiness and prosperity, but also with pain and difficulties.
