Fifteen years (or so)
The boy died at the age of fifteen, the tombstone declares. This might of course have actually been the case. However, tombstones show a high number of ages that are quinquennial, showing ages of 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. This suggests that people often did not know exactly how old they (or their loved ones) were, and therefore used an approximate age. Licisippus might therefore also have been 14 or 16 in reality. In any case, he died young, which was very common in those days.
