The first part opens with a series of six names, some of which bear a long stroke. This means that they are not normal, everyday names, but magical ones with a special potency. The first of the series, on both sides, is Kouchos.
These are the names, so the text tells us, of the “six powers of Death” who bring death over humans.
From other texts we know that, together with Death itself, they are a group of seven frightful beings that literally scare the soul out of a dying person. Here, they are asked to do the same to one particular man, a certain Haron (Aaron), the son of Tkouikira.
