A strange object

This object is not a work of art or even an artifact. It is an animal bone, perhaps a cow’s rib, and may look dreadful at first sight.

Only when zooming in does one discover that its surface is almost entirely covered with a text scribbled in red ink. The script is very small and can only be read with difficulty. In fact, as we will see, it was not meant to be read by any living person…
