Eyes of gold
Did you know that the oldest known fake eye was made from neither glass nor plastic? It was made from tarmac-like bitumen, and covered with gold. It was worn by a woman dug up in Shahr-I Sokhta, Iran, over four thousand years ago. She was most likely a priestess. The eye was attached to her head with a golden ribbon.
Kaspar might have been of simpler stock, but his fake eye had by then developed into something much more sophisticated.
