Curating Garbage

This panel was originally part of a costume, the silhouette of which the artist refers to as resembling the dress of a samurai. The title of the costume is Ocean Warrior, which might be understood as an ironic reference to the fact that it consists of marine garbage that battles and kills ocean life, while the artist herself defends it.

As an activist, liina klauss tries to create ecological awareness and teaches methods of reuse, for example in workshops where people learn to turn natural objects and trash found on Hong Kong’s islands and beaches into beautiful wearables.See: liina klauss, mind your head She also regularly organizes public beach cleaning and garbage curating activities.
