Study bird consisting of parts of multiple different birds. Bought by C.J. Temminck at an auction from the Joan Raye collection, 40 cm from beak to tail, ca. 7 cm wide and 12 cm high.

Strange bird
story by Pepijn Kamminga.The first director of Naturalis bought this bird in 1827. A unique specimen. Unfortunately for the wrong reason: it turned out to be a concoction of different types of birds.
