Book and souvenir

A souvenir and a book, reflect the time spent in the Netherlands by this PhD student. Dutch painters are famous all over the world, and many tourists decide to take home a souvenir that depicts one of the most famous paintings with them from abroad, as did this PhD student. The book by George Gamow, on the other hand, was brought from China to the Netherlands. What do these objects tell us about their owner?
