Winged men
Here too is a turbaned man from the waist up, facing us. His garment is different; it is wide, striped and has no opening at the front. It looks a bit like a gallabiya.
Behind his back too appears a pair of pointed shapes. They really do look like wings. Grown men in this part of the world would normally have facial hair but these two figures don’t, as if they are angelic or otherwise androgynous. What are they supposed to represent and why are they dressed differently, besides their wings? The difference in garments may have something to do with another difference between the two bowls: one has embossed writing in Hebrew around it, the other has embossed writing in Arabic.
