To Delft University
Thanks to modern scanning technology, we’re now able to see though clay envelopes without having to break them. So we can read the text on the inside without damaging the ancient objects.
A few years ago, a couple of NINO’s tablets, including this one here, travelled from Leiden to Delft’s Technical University, to be placed in a nuclear reactor. This example especially was of interest to NINO, since it bears some ‘suspicious’ characteristics: it’s a lot heavier than the other envelopes, and the inscription is indecipherable. So the results of the scan were highly anticipated.
