Clay model of a sheep’s liver

This inscribed clay model is based on a sheep’s liver (14,6 cm in length and width) and used in the context of divination. It probably comes from Sippar, modern Iraq, and dates from the Old Babylonian period (1900-1600 BC). It is on display at the British Museum.
