Blue-and-white Pen Case
Pen case from the David Collection 7/1991. The case measures 7 x 7.7 x 28 cm. The case itself is made of porcelain and was produced in China circa 1500 CE. The lid is made of fritware and was produced in Iran circa 1600 CE.
Rounded rectangular pen case made of two pieces: a porcelain body and a fritware lid. Both are decorated with blue-and-white designs in different styles, and demonstrate a continual exchange of ideas between Persia and China in the early modern period.
