Blue-and-white Pen Case

Pen case from the David Collection 7/1991. The case measures 7 x 7.7 x 28 cm. The case itself is made of porcelain and was produced in China circa 1500 CE. The lid is made of fritware and was produced in Iran circa 1600 CE. ​

Rounded rectangular pen case made of two pieces: a porcelain body and a fritware lid. Both are decorated with blue-and-white designs in different styles, and demonstrate a continual exchange of ideas between Persia and China in the early modern period.
