De Chinese Pagode_ is painted red. The color adds to the Chineseness of the restaurant. Traditional Chinese buildings often highlight the color red, due to the fact that red is seen as an auspicious color. Green, the color of the roof, is associated with health and prosperity. The reason for the often vibrant and eye-catching colors found inside and outside of Chinese restaurants is thus not only to be recognizable; it is more so to symbolize and thus attract good fortune.
