Sole of a sandal

Another highlight of Böhl’s Egyptian collection is this finely decorated leather sandal-sole, probably dating from Egypt’s Roman Period. It is somewhat damaged, possibly worn, and has even been repaired at the heel. The decoration is made by nice stitching along the edges and nail-imprints.
