On the weekends, I often go home to visit my parents. On Sunday, my dad cooks. One of his signature dishes is xihongshi chaodan 西红柿炒蛋,a classic tomato and egg stir-fry that is a popular dish in many Chinese families. In our family, we also eat it in variations with noodles and fried rice. You can say that we love our tomato and eggs. Though we do not often eat foe yong hai, the love for the mix between tomatoes and eggs remains strong.

In contrast, as you search for furongdan images in Chinese, a lot of fried omelet pictures will pop up, and most of them don't come with a sauce. This leaves us with the interesting case of the foe yong hai famous in the Netherlands: an omelet covered with sauce, and a unique mix of tastes.
