Step 5 of 11Chin-Ind Loempia
Take me there
Loempia
This 'giant' loempia measures roughly 19cm in length, 7cm in width, and 4cm in height. Loempias are very popular in Dutch Chin-Ind restaurants. In fact, they are so popular and unique that a German family once came to our restaurant to buy sixteen large, unfried loempias to bring back to Germany. Loempia is not only amazing comfort food, it also carries with it a different, auspicious meaning. In China, it is believed that loempias can provide an energy boost. Moreover, the shape is seen as resembling gold bars, and loempias are thus seen as a symbol of wealth. Delicious food with many benefits - what’s not to love?
