    For centuries Leiden has been a destination for believers from all over the world. Besides public religious buildings, some citizens also have private religious collections. A prime example is this captivating Hindu house temple. It gives us a fascinating image of a lived religious experience of an Indo-Surinamese (Dutch: <em>Hindoestaan</em>) in the Netherlands.
