Step 1 of 5

A version of yourself

When your heart sinks in your shoes and you turn into a watered down version of yourself, what can you do? You sink as low as you can until you turn into your own shadow. A distorted version of yourself that doesn't really exist but can only exist because of you.

Historically, the shadow has had many different symbolic interpretations, usually in relation to moralistic aspects of the universe and humanity. In Egyptian mythology the essence of the shadow was found in the dark twin sister of Isis, Nephtys. In astrology we see the shadow in the name Lilith, which refers to the dark side of the moon, and in psychology the shadow is a representation of our alter ego. Even in the 1953 Disney movie Peter Pan the shadow is portrayed as the evil doppelganger of the hero Peter Pan.
