Fragment van een stèle uit Deir el-Medina
Dit kleine kalkstenen fragment (LB 1375) van 3,1 x 3,6 x 1,2 cm groot is waarschijnlijk afkomstig van een Oudegyptische stèle. De tekst erop vertelt ons dat het afkomstig is uit Deir el-Medina, een arbeidersdorp uit het Nieuwe Rijk (1550-1069 v. Chr.). De stèle dateert waarschijnlijk uit de Ramessidische Periode (1292-1069 v. Chr.)

In the ancient Egyptian language these statues were called shabtis, or ushabtis, and functioned as assistants for the deceased.
