Shabtis of Amenkhau

These two nice painted figurines are shabtis, they functioned as assistants for the dead in the afterlife. These particular ones date to the Third Intermediate Period and belonged to a man called Amenkhau. They have painted decorations of the name of Amenkhau in hieroglyphs, agricultural tools, a headband, and a backpack. Böhl acquired them in January 1930 in Luxor.
