Diagonal

As this verse is the exact description of the scene he was painting, Bihzad left a diagonal space for this verse right in centre, to the left of what appear to be the doors of the palace, for the calligrapher Sultan ‘Ali Katib to fill in. The following verse is also written diagonally, to the left of the lower entrance doors:

So had she yielded to appetite’s demon
That she had fallen on him like a wolf.

These verses further characterize the scene depicted. Text and image thus seem closely intertwined. But are they?
