It is worth noting that other than the differences in applied language and the differences in the men’s appearances, the bowls are identical. Identical in size, material, shape, decorative elements and the extent to which they have been dented and stained by the passage of time.
This leads me to believe they came from one and the same workshop. A workshop apparently, where both Arabic and Hebrew lettering could be applied to its products. But what does this lettering tell us?
