Egyptian artifacts

Because Böhl was an assyriologist, few people know that he also had some Egyptian artifacts in his collection. 76 of them, in fact! Böhl traveled to Egypt on several occasions, even hosting group trips there. In the NINO archive, there are several receipts of his purchases of Egyptian artifacts. These objects were long overlooked, but have since been extensively studied in 2010 by Egyptologist Esther Holwerda in her MA thesis.

The collection Böhl managed to bring together is a varied one, in type of object and time period. We will once again highlight some of them here.
